Lachnagrostis lyallii adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Selandia Baru hingga Kepulauan Chatham. Nama ilmiah Lachnagrostis lyallii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Joseph Dalton Hooker pada tahun 1965.
