Leucophyllum candidum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Scrophulariaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Texas barat daya hingga Meksiko timur laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan brewster county barometerbush. Nama ilmiah Leucophyllum candidum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ivan Murray Johnston pada tahun 1941.
