Maireana tomentosa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Western hingga Australia Tengah. Nama ilmiah Maireana tomentosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Horace Bénédict Alfred Moquin-Tandon pada tahun 1840.
