Malpighia linearis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Malpighiaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kuba, Puerto Rico, hingga Lesser Antilles. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan bastard cherry. Nama ilmiah Malpighia linearis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquin pada tahun 1760.
