Mercurialis ovata adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa tengah hingga Suriah barat dan Kaukasia. Nama ilmiah Mercurialis ovata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Kaspar Maria von Sternberg pada tahun 1815.
