Mikania thapsoides adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil tenggara dan selatan hingga Argentina timur laut. Nama ilmiah Mikania thapsoides diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1836.
