Mimosa detinens merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Bolivia timur hingga Argentina barat laut. Nama ilmiah Mimosa detinens diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama George Bentham pada tahun 1846.
