Mimosa hexandra merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Meksiko barat daya, kawasan tropis Amerika selatan. Nama ilmiah Mimosa hexandra diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Marc Micheli pada tahun 1889.
