Mimosa hystricina adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Texas timur hingga Louisiana. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan porcupine mimosa. Nama ilmiah Mimosa hystricina diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama John Kunkel Small pada tahun 1994.
