Mimosa lacerata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Meksiko. Nama ilmiah Mimosa lacerata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Joseph Nelson Rose pada tahun 1897.
