Mimosa pithecolobioides merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil timur. Nama ilmiah Mimosa pithecolobioides diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama George Bentham pada tahun 1875.
