Mimosa suburbana merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil tengah. Nama ilmiah Mimosa suburbana diperkenalkan oleh Rupert Charles Barneby pada tahun 1991.
