Monotropa coccinea merupakan tumbuhan holoparasit dari famili Ericaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Kolombia. Nama ilmiah Monotropa coccinea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Joseph Gerhard Zuccarini pada tahun 1832.
