Nolina atopocarpa merupakan tumbuhan geofit dari famili Asparagaceae yang memiliki kebiasaan membentuk bonggol di pangkal batang (caudex). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Florida. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan florida beargrass. Nama ilmiah Nolina atopocarpa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Harley Harris Bartlett pada tahun 1909.
