Pectis schaffneri merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Meksiko tengah dan timur laut. Nama ilmiah Pectis schaffneri diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Heinrich "Bipontinus" Schultz pada tahun 1883.
