Peperomia abyssinica merupakan tumbuhan semisukulen dari famili Piperaceae (suku sirih-sirihan) yang berbentuk perdu kecil atau epifit. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kamerun, Eritrea, Malawi, hingga Yaman utara. Nama ilmiah Peperomia abyssinica pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Friedrich Anton Wilhelm Miquel pada tahun 1845.
