Phaseolus neglectus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Meksiko timur laut. Nama ilmiah Phaseolus neglectus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Frederick Joseph Hermann pada tahun 1948.
