Phyllanthus acidus (L.) Skeels

Ceremai adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Phyllanthaceae. Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Phyllanthus acidus ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Brazil (Pará). Ceremai juga dikenal dengan sebutan lain yaitu cerme atau caramele (Makassar). Nama ilmiah Phyllanthus acidus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Homer Collar Skeels pada tahun 1909.
