Phyllostachys elegans merupakan tumbuhan bambu dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari China (Guangdong, Hunan), hingga Hainan. Nama ilmiah Phyllostachys elegans pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Floyd Alonzo McClure pada tahun 1956.
