Piper cheyennense merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Piperaceae (suku sirih-sirihan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Belize hingga Guatemala. Nama ilmiah Piper cheyennense pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis William Trelease pada tahun 1952.
