Pleopeltis fallax merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Polypodiaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Meksiko hingga Amerika tengah. Nama ilmiah Pleopeltis fallax diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Diederich Franz Leonhard von Schlechtendal pada tahun 1988.
