Pleopeltis thyssanolepis merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Polypodiaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan arizona scaly polypody. Nama ilmiah Pleopeltis thyssanolepis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alexander Karl Heinrich Braun pada tahun 1993.
