Pyrola grandiflora merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Ericaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim dingin (subalpin atau subarktik) dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Subarctic hingga Kanada. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan largeflowered wintergreen. Nama ilmiah Pyrola grandiflora pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Justus Wilhelm Martin Radius pada tahun 1821.
