Rhododendron potaninii merupakan tumbuhan perdu atau perdu kecil dari famili Ericaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah China (Gansu timur). Nama ilmiah Rhododendron potaninii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Alexander Theodorowicz Batalin pada tahun 1891.
