Rhododendron rex merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Ericaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah China (Sichuan barat daya, Yunnan utara). Nama ilmiah Rhododendron rex diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Augustin Abel Hector Léveillé pada tahun 1914.
