Rhynchospora rubra subsp. africana adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah kawasan tropis Afrika dan Afrika Selatan, Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Rhynchospora rubra subsp. africana diperkenalkan oleh Jean Raynal pada tahun 1967.
