Rinorea elliptica merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Violaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Somalia selatan hingga Mozambique. Nama ilmiah Rinorea elliptica pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Daniel Oliver pada tahun 1891.
