Rosa canina L.

Rosa canina adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Macaronesia, Afrika barat laut, Eropa, Asia tengah, hingga Pakistan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan dog rose. Nama ilmiah Rosa canina diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
