Rumex abyssinicus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Polygonaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Nigeria, Eritrea, kawasan tropis Afrika bagian selatan, hingga Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Rumex abyssinicus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquin pada tahun 1777.
