Rumex crassus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Polygonaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Oregon hingga California. Nama ilmiah Rumex crassus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Karl Heinz Rechinger pada tahun 1936.
