Ruscus hypoglossum merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asparagaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk akar rimpang. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa selatan dan selatan-tengah hingga Türkiye utara. Nama ilmiah Ruscus hypoglossum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
