Salmea insipida merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Kuba. Nama ilmiah Salmea insipida diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquin pada tahun 1981.
