Salsola australis merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Australia. Nama ilmiah Salsola australis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Robert Brown pada tahun 1810.
