Saussurea topkegolensis merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim dingin (subalpin atau subarktik) dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Himalaya tengah dan timur hingga Tibet selatan. Nama ilmiah Saussurea topkegolensis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Hideaki Ohba pada tahun 1992.
