Senecio astephanus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari California. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan san gabriel ragwort. Nama ilmiah Senecio astephanus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Edward Lee Greene pada tahun 1888.
