Senecio glabrescens merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Australia selatan dan tenggara. Nama ilmiah Senecio glabrescens diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1845.
