Senecio hydrophiloides merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Kanada barat hingga Amerika Serikat bagian barat. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan tall groundsel. Nama ilmiah Senecio hydrophiloides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Per Axel Rydberg pada tahun 1900.
