Senecio malacophyllus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Brazil (Rio de Janeiro). Nama ilmiah Senecio malacophyllus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Per Karl Hjalmar Dusén pada tahun 1903.
