Senecio proteus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Chili (Atacama, Coquimbo). Nama ilmiah Senecio proteus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ezechiel Jules Rémy pada tahun 1849.
