Senecio rapifolius merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Amerika Serikat barat-tengah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan openwoods ragwort. Nama ilmiah Senecio rapifolius pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Thomas Nuttall pada tahun 1841.
