Senecio spartioides merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Amerika Serikat hingga Meksiko (Baja California Norte). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan broom-like ragwort. Nama ilmiah Senecio spartioides diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama John Torrey pada tahun 1843.
