Senecio subcanescens merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape. Nama ilmiah Senecio subcanescens diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1934.
