Senecio subdiscoideus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Chili tengah dan selatan hingga Argentina barat dan selatan. Nama ilmiah Senecio subdiscoideus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Heinrich "Bipontinus" Schultz pada tahun 1856.
