Spermacoce orinocensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Amerika selatan. Nama ilmiah Spermacoce orinocensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig von Willdenow pada tahun 1818.
