Sporobolus floridanus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian tenggara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan florida dropseed. Nama ilmiah Sporobolus floridanus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Alvan Wentworth Chapman pada tahun 1860.
