Sporobolus laxus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Australia timur. Nama ilmiah Sporobolus laxus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Bryan Kenneth Simon pada tahun 1983.
