Strychnos nux-vomica adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Loganiaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh menjalar. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari India hingga Semenanjung Malaysia bagian utara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan strychnine tree. Nama ilmiah Strychnos nux-vomica diperkenalkan oleh Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
