Stylosanthes erecta merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika, Madagaskar. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan nigerian stylo. Nama ilmiah Stylosanthes erecta pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ambroise Marie François Joseph Palisot de Beauvois pada tahun 1811.
