Stylosanthes humilis merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan Townsville stylo atau Townsville lucerne. Nama ilmiah Stylosanthes humilis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 1824.
