Suaeda fruticosa merupakan tumbuhan perdu atau perdu kecil dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mediterania timur hingga India dan Jazirah Arab. Nama ilmiah Suaeda fruticosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Peter Forsskål pada tahun 1776.
